Energy Inspections for the
City of Dallas
The City of Dallas, Lewisville,
Highland Village, Frisco, McKinney, Murphy and Grand Praire requires 3rd party energy
inspections as part of it's building inspection process to assure
compliance with the Dallas Energy Code or their city code. Our Energy Inspectors are
certified as 2006 IEEC Energy Plans Reviewers or Home Energy Raters
(HERS) to provide the most knowledgeable inspectors.
- The City of Dallas requires a framing inspection after the wall
insulation is installed and before the wall sheetrock is installed.
At that time we will inspect the window fenestration for energy
efficiency compliance and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC). The
energy inspector will also review the Air Conditioning system plans
and Ventilation Duct insulation values to make sure that the
property is going to comply with the City of Dallas Building Energy
Code.
- A final inspection is performed after the ceiling sheetrock is
installed and the attic insulated. If the property complies with the
Dallas Energy Code, a Certificate will be issued at that time. This
final Energy Inspection must be preformed before the final
Electrical inspection.
Other Cities have recently adopted 3rd party Energy Inspections such
as Lewisville Energy Inspection and Highland Village Energy Inspections.
